Credit Balances:

A credit balance occurs whenever a student has funds credited to their student account that exceed the total amount of a student鈥檚 direct charges. Per cash management regulations, credit balances resulting聽exclusively from Title IV (federal) aid are refunded directly to the student or parent as soon as possible but no later than 14 days after the first day of classes or the date the funds were applied to a student鈥檚 account, whichever comes last. Regulations stipulate that a student鈥檚 unpaid charges on their bill must be satisfied before a refund can be processed. Students who have completed a Title IV credit authorization allowing the college to hold onto their federal Title IV credit will not automatically be refunded until the end of the academic year. However, any student with a credit balance may apply to have their credit refunded to them by doing the following:

How to Request Your Refund:

  1. Sign into MyMack
  2. Click Student Info
  3. Click Student Billing

Note: Federal Regulations also require that the college document that a student begin attending classes in order to be eligible for a refund of a credit balance. Therefore, the Bursar鈥檚 office begins processing refunds once the add/drop period for the semester has passed.
